This
size 16 solid 18K gold pocket watch is in excellent running condition.
There is some case damage (dent) on the bottom left edge
that is not visible in these photos. The movement is
probably a high
grade Swiss, we are currently trying to verify the
manufacturer, for certain.
The dial is in very good condition with only one faint
scratch.
The crystal is perfect glass.
All of the cover snap, but typical of 18K gold are
soft and a little care must be taken. The case measures 48.75 mm without
crown or neck
We believe this movement was
manufactured by Patek Philippe for Charles H. Grottendieck a
famous Belgium clock maker located in the Antwerp Belgium. Grottendieck
was a very high end clock maker, that made this watch. As he
only made watches for important clients it stands to reason
that he used the best movements available. According to
sources we have communicated with in Belgium he is reported
to have only used Patek and Vacheron. This movement definitely
favors the Patek look.
The most recent evidence I have is that this
is an A. Jaccard movement. I will be trying to verify this
for certain during the next few days and once the this is accomplished
the price of this watch will go to $1800.00
The mark in the last photo reads (top)
SAVOYE F&C ie (bottom) NEYRETFRERS srs
Gold price adjustment applies.
