This is a custom Hamilton similar to the Wiltshire Registered addition.

The case is white gold filled* and was made to be a sample case for Hamilton to show jewelers. In my opinion the case is actually much better that the actual case used for the Registered Addition and there is no engraving on the back of the case.

The movement is a Swiss made ETA jeweled quartz movement # 902.501/5.

The dial, and hands came with the case with a mock movement.

The case of the watch is in excellent condition with stainless steel back and no visible sign of misuse. The bezel is also in very good shape with no visible dent marks on it. The crown is original and signed. The design of the dial is very rare. The dial is almost in mint condition with a large second sub-register. The hands are all in very fine condition so are the minute markings on the dial. The dial signed Wyler under 12 and INCAFLEX under the word Wyler. INCAFLEX is the special trademark of Wyler watch for its special design on the balance wheel for shock protection. It is also signed SWISS under 6. The watch sets correctly and winds like butter. The watch is running perfectly and keeping excellent time and it is fitted with a brand new band for the new owner.

Excellent porcelain enamel dial.

Serial # 389971124 dates the watch to, think this serial number must be wrong? it is not I checked it at least 10 times. So having made only about 55,000,000 watches # 389,971,124 must be a factory error. Or was it?

Anyway this serial number makes this an extremely rare watch.

I believe they added an extra 1 to the serial number, if so this watch is a grade 540 made in 1940.

If you are a serious Elgin collector this is a must have watch.

This watch was conceived as a grade 581 military sweep second hack made for the Army Air Corps.

Stem wind and set.

But before it got out of the factory it was converted to a BW Raymond with a fourth wheel but the center wheel for the sweep second hand was left in place. You can see the holes in the barrel bridge to hold the hack mechanism.

This may very well be a one of a kind.

The entire movement is gold flashed.

The case appears to be the original for military use, probably an officer.

The dial is military style and the porcelain enamel is in perfect condition.

The movement was just serviced and is keeping excellent time.

New old stock glass crystal.

The serial # 41750513 confirms that this is a grade 581 made in 1943.
