We have been getting more request for custom made watches, especially pocket watches where the customer wants a specific movement coupled with specific dial, hand and case. We have provided this service for years but really did not advertise it.

These request can take a considerable amount of time to complete, depending on the availability of the parts but usually can be completed with a few months or sooner. We do not require a deposit for this service but these request will normally cost more than a stock watch. The reason for this is that the parts of a watch that are in very good condition sold separately will usually bring about 50% more that the average watch of the same model.

This is a Hamilton 992 that was specially assembled for a client that wanted an exact duplicate, including case, hands and dial of a watch that belonged to his grandfather. Because the cost of purchasing parts separately, to meet this specification, this watch cost a little more than a similar 992 might. In this case the 14 K white gold filled bar over crown case, partial Montgomery style dial with lettering exactly as shown and the 992 movement was what the customer wanted.
