E. Howard Watch Co. Boston, Movement No. 1264806, 21 jewels, Series 11, “Railroad Chronometer”. This watch has “R.R. Adjustment Temperature 5 Positions”. The watch is stem wind, lever set, has a gilt train, a steel escape wheel and a bimetallic compensated balance with Gold balance screws, Gold “Timing” screws and Gold “Quartering” screws. The watch has micrometric adjustments with Howard’s Patented Regulator. The enamel dial is good. We see NO chips, NO Cracks, NO Hairlines. The dial has line minutes with bold black Arabic hours. The hands are “Spade and Pointer”. The watch is in a Keystone Extra “E. Howard Watch Co. Boston” swing-out yellow gold filled watch case with screw cover and bezel.
This movement has just been fully serviced and
is keeping excellent time.
The dial is perfect.
The crystal is heavy beveled glass, is in
very good condition, with no noticeable chips or
scratches.
Howard Keystone swing out case,
there is no brazing, but there are a couple of small dents and the bezel screws
down a little less smooth than I like but does screw on and
off OK. These relatively minor case issues are the reason
for the lower than normal price.

This
is a Waltham Vanguard 23 Jewel Pocket Watch housed in a beautiful
Gold Filled 25 year case.
The case is beautifully
engraved and without inscriptions, the Cartouche is just
waiting for your initials.
Serial Number 16028486
dates this watch to 1908. That's right this beauty is over
100 years old and is keeping perfect time. The movement was
just serviced.
I like these older
Vanguard because they have the beautiful gold damasking on
the movement, something the newer Vanguards are lacking
The heavy glass beveled
crystal is flawless and the dial is free of chips or
hairlines.
Lever set and pendent wind
this Vanguard has the lever at 1:15 rather than 11 as the
newer one do, and the lever setting mechanism is more sturdy
on these earlier models.

The regulator on this watch looks more like a
Waltham to me but because used a very strange serial number
system and the serial number is for a Hamilton I am selling
as a Hamilton, even though I have reservations. I thought
that the 16 jewel Hamilton's were lever set but there are
always exceptions.
Pendent set and wind
Perfect beveled glass crystal and flawless
dial, hunter faces are hard to photograph without reflection
because of the front cover - Sorry.
All hinges open and close properly
There is an engraving on the inner dust
cover and the cartouche has the letter G

The dial is in very good
condition, no chips and only two very faint hairlines that
are difficult to see without magnification.
The
case is 10K gold filled and is most likely the original to
this movement being a Hamilton case. The case has some wear
issues on the back cover and side that don't show up in the
photos. There is thin dent in the side and what could best
be described as small gouges on the back cover. The case has
been cleaned and polished and is very attractive despite the
issues listed.
The crystal is new
old stock glass.
The watch has been
serviced and runs for 48 hours or longer on a full wind.

I am particularly fond of.

style with faint hairlines between 11 and 12 and just below
the 30 under the second hand. There is a small edge chip
repair near the lever set just past 1
The crystal appears to be original heavy
glass with no chips or scratches
The case was cleaned and polished and is
free of dents or scratches

This
is a beautiful 14K size 18 Hamilton side wind, lever set
pocket watch. Serial number 183445 dates this watch to about
1902-1903.
The dial is almost perfect
with a very tiny edge chip near 2, where the lever is. It is
on the underside of the edge so is almost impossible to see.
The case is in very good
condition with only minor signs of wear and scratches.
Remember this watch is well over 100 years old.
The crystal is perfect.
The covers screw on and
off flawlessly.
This watch was just

The watch chain comes with
this watch, it appears to be gold filled but, I am not sure
about the markings. It looks real nice with this watch. I can tell that the
chain is very old by the wear on the inside of the links.
